Vision
To create excellent opportunities using State and Federal Programs providing supplemental funding to Lytle ISD enabling all students to reach their highest academic potential.
Mission
The mission of the State and Federal Programs is to serve as the coordinating funding for all Title, State Compensatory, and other external federal and non-federal grant funds received by Lytle ISD
Role of the Federal Programs Director
•Serve as the program coordinator and monitor for all federal and state comp funding
•Oversee all aspects of federal entitlements (non-competitive grants)
•Provide technical support for federal and state grants to all campus principals/directors
•Monitor program and financial compliance according to the guidelines of federal government
•Complete all federal and state applications and compliance reports annually
Title I Part A Purpose
Is to ensure that all children, particularly low-achieving children in the highest-poverty schools, have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and assessments
Title I Part C Migrant Purpose
To support high-quality and comprehensive educational programs for migratory children to help reduce the educational disruptions and other problems that result from repeated moves.
Title II Part A Purpose Teacher Principal Training
Is to increase the academic achievement of all students by helping schools and school districts improve teacher and principal quality and ensure that all teachers are highly qualified.
Title II Part D Purpose Technology
To enhance education through a technology program.
Title III Part A Purpose Language Limited English Proficient
To help ensure that children who are limited English proficient, including immigrant children and youth attain English proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment in English and meet the same challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards.
Title V Part A Purpose Innovative
To support local education reform efforts that are consistent with and support statewide education reform efforts.
Title VI Part B Purpose Rural Low Income
To address the unique needs of rural school districts that frequently lack personnel and resources needed to complete effectively for federal competitive grants and receive formula grant allocations in amounts too small to be effective in meeting their intended purpose.
Head Start Purpose
To provide a child focused program and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low income families.
Carl Perkins Purpose Vocational Technical
To develop new or improve existing career and technology education, with the full participation of individuals who are members of special populations.
Reading First Purpose
Increase emphasis on programs and instruction that are grounded in scientifically based reading research (SBRR);
Expand instructional components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension; and
Requires a comprehensive assessment plan
