Superintendent’s Script

As Lytle continues to grow the school district must plan for future growth. The Texas Association of School Boards, TASB assisted the district with a facility study earlier this year. The final report will be made to the board of trustees on May 20. The report will give an overview of the current condition of the facilities with recommendations to accommodate future growth. The district plans to form a committee to study the report and make recommendations to the board for future building and renovations.
In conjunction with this report the School Safety Audit report will be presented. Senate Bill 11 requires school districts to conduct a school safety and security audit every three years. Safety auditors with the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities, Education Service Center, Region 20 spent several days in the district reviewing our facilities and interviewing employees and students for safety information. The report will highlight areas of concern and make recommendations to increase safety at Lytle ISD. Both reports will provide information for committee members to use in creating a long term facility plan for the district.
I would like to invite parents and members of the community to the school board meeting on Tuesday, May 20 at 6:00 p.m. to hear the reports. We will be looking for volunteers in the near future to serve on a long-range planning committee. Thanks for your support.
