Community Supports Elementary
By JJ Perez Elementary Assistant Principal

The month of March turned out to be very generous for Lytle
Elementary. The Easter Bunny stopped by on March 7th and allowed
students and community
members to take pictures with him. The photo opportunity allowed
the elementary to gather $435 that will go towards purchasing
library books.
The Lytle PTO worked in conjunction with the elementary to try to raise money to purchase an electronic marquee. Students sold the first round of Sonic Community Value Cards which ended March 14th and netted just over $4,000. H.E.B. also worked with elementary to promote health awareness by giving our second grade students the opportunity to earn an H.E.B. Buddy backpack complete with school supplies and a $25 gift card by writing an essay on healthy living. Six essays were chosen and displayed in the H.E.B. foyer for the community to vote on during Spring Break. Special thanks goes out to Phillip Kreger, Sonic, and H.E.B. for helping in making this happen.
The maintenance department stayed busy on the elementary campus
during Spring Break. They installed the last of our hallway
backpack hooks for the campus. The hooks help to remove clutter
from the classroom make it a much safer environment. The
maintenance department trimmed upped the sidewalk formed leading
from the hallway doors to the playground with soil and grass seed
in order to it a safe passage for our students. The elementary also
plenty of events coming up
will keep the students and community busy. Our 4th grade classes
will be performing School Musical on April 4th the elementary
gymnasium at and 1:00 for everyone to see.
UIL students will be competing April 5th at Barrera Veterans
Elementary School in Somerset.
will also have our Spring picture day on April 8th.
