Girls Qualify for Regional Power Lifting Meet March 1st

Congratulations to the Girls Power lifting team for getting 1st place at the Hill Country Invitational at Medina Valley on Saturday (2-16-08). This was the 3rd time in 4 meets this year that they have come home as Champions. Stephanie Patlan led the team by not only getting a 1st place medal; she also came away with the best lifter in the light weight division. Also getting 1st place medals were Dominique Rodriguez and Marian Zapata. Erica Ortiz got 2nd and both Sharon Cadena and Audrey Petrash placed 4th. Anna Alaquinez rounded out the 7 member team with her best meet of the year.
This was another great year for GIRLS Power lifting and the senior group will be greatly missed as they have helped win 6 of the last 9 meets in the past two years. You have started a great tradition and we can only hope that we can find others to continue it.
Though it is over for some, it is not over for the three of the members as Stephanie Pitman, Dominique Rodriguez and Marina Zapata have qualified for regionals to be held at Kingsville H. S. on March 1st where they hope to qualify for STATE. Congratulations girls.
Congratulations to the Boys Power Lifting team for their
performance on Saturday at Medina Valley. Four members of this
young team came home with medals. Jon Guillen placed 3rd, Brandon
Noriega 4th, Jeremiah Jimenez 5th, and Robert Gonzales 5th. All the
boy power lifters did a great job this year and the future of the
program is in great hands.
