The elementary distributed surveys to parents and staff after the Fall Family Night to generate ideas for the Spring Family Night. Based on the surveys, the format for the Spring Family night has changed. Lytle elementary will be hosting its Spring Family Night February 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The topics chosen for the evening revolve around strategies and activities parents can use at home with their children.
The event will be two hours long. From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. dinner will be provided to parents and students. The 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. hour will include two 30 minute sessions per grade level for parents and students to attend. Second grade will provide a session on reading fluency and a session on reading comprehension. The third grade sessions will cover TAKS Busters for math and Inference/Fact & Opinion/Retell Ring for reading. The two sessions for fourth grade will be a make and take activity and educational games that parents can utilize at home with their children. Fifth grade’s two sessions will be examples of 5-E science lessons that have been incorporated into our science curriculum. Our counselor will also be providing two sessions that will give helpful hints to parents for effectively disciplining their school-age child.
We hope all parents have the opportunity to attend.
