**** Notes From The Superintendent: Michelle Carroll Smith **** I am a third generation Pirate as my grandmother, Teresa Neagelin Carroll graduated from Lytle High School in 1940 and my father, Alfred Lee Carroll graduated in 1961 from Lytle High School. My children are currently attending Lytle Schools. Lytle will always be a great place to go to school and to work. ****

Superintendent’s Script December 2007

by Michelle Carroll-Smith

December 14, 2007

January is school board recognition month. At the annual meeting in January the campuses and departments take time to show their appreciation for the members of the board by sharing some Pirate spirit items. Board members are also given treats and goodies to show our appreciation. School board members volunteer their time and efforts to ensure a quality education for all students at Lytle ISD. Being a school board member requires many hours of training and updating on education topics. Often times these topics are not familiar to someone outside the field of education. I would like to recognize our current school board members for their service to the district. President, Dan Booth; Vice President, Reagan Wagoner; Secretary, Jeanie Sanders; members, Frank Swann, Charles Driver, Margaret Littleton, and Mark Sherwood. The members of the board have high expectations for the district and are very supportive of a quality education for all. I would like to thank them for their support and contribution to the education community at Lytle ISD. If you have occasion to see one of our board members please take the time to thank them for their commitment.

Have a Happy Holiday Season
