Elementary School Makes Plans for Red Ribbon Week

Lytle Elementary School will be celebrating National Red Ribbon Week October 22 – October 26, 2007. During this week the students at Lytle Elementary School will be participating in a variety of activities that emphasize the importance of staying drug-free. In addition to the activities planned, the students have the opportunity to show their support of Red Ribbon Week by dressing according to the themes.The Elementary campus will be doing the following:
MONDAY: KICK OFF: PLEDGE TO BE DRUG FREE
Announcements will be made all week. Begin door
decorating contest (SLAM THE DOOR ON DRUGS). Pass out Ribbons
and Stickers to be worn all week. Students will work together
to decorate their door. Doors will be judged later in the week.
There will be a winner picked for each grade level. The
winning classrooms will receive a popcorn party.
TUESDAY: BEING DRUG FREE COMES IN CANS-I CAN, YOU CAN, WE
CAN
Campus-wide Can food drive. Students are encouraged to bring a
canned food item. All donated items will be given to a local food
pantry.
WEDNESDAY: DRUGS AND I DON’T MIX
Students and staff wear mix-matched clothes
THURSDAY: RED DAY
Wear as much red as you can (from head to toe). Pep rally
for Primary and Elementary Students at the football field 1:30 PM.
Choose winner of door decorating contest
FRIDAY: SHOW YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT/DRUG FREE THE HEALTHY WAY
TO
BE Wear school colors. The winners of the door
decorating contest to receive Popcorn party.
