Elementary anticipates music/theatre productions
September 13, 2007
The Elementary Campus is very proud of their highly acclaimed annual Variety Show, holiday productions and their Fourth Grade Musical Reviews. All of these productions, allow students to demonstrate their skills and build self-confidence. The programs have been very influential for the students creating friendships and lasting memories.
In the past, the fourth grade theatre/music class has performed to the musical hits of Annie and Grease. This year, the group will be performing to the music of High School Musical. Students will be rehearsing their assigned parts in their theatre arts music class.
The Variety Show is an annual event held during the last weeks of school. During the show, students perform to their choice of the latest chart topping hits or to some of the classic crowd pleasers. Because of an overwhelming response of students who volunteer to perform, the show has been broken down into daily performances for each grade level. Students start organizing and selecting their performance material after Spring Break. Some students choreograph their shows and design costumes. However, some students are so excited about the opportunity that they start planning for the event early in the school year. The Variety Show has been such a hit with the community; it draws a large crowd every year. Make plans to attend and participate in this year’s event. Hope to see you there!
