Lytle Cross Country Team Participates in FEAST Invitational

The Lytle Cross Country team participated in the FEAST Invitational on Saturday Sept. 8th at Brooks City Base.
The Varsity Boys, ranked 8th in the state, came away with 3rd place behind Del Rio (#3 in South Region) and FEAST with 20 teams competing. Jesse Perez and Sebastian Benavides led the Pirates placing 10th and 12th respectably. Following not far behind were their teammates Andrew Rendon, Jeremi Holmquist, Jarrett Montemayor, and Brandon Lacy.
Yvette Villarreal led the girls, medaling with a 15th place finish. She led the young girls’ squad to an 8th place finish in a strong field. Joining her were Macy Chapa, Stephanie Patlan, Bethany Rucker, Krystal Bernal, and Krystal Barker.
The JV boys also had a medalist as Devin de la Fuente came away with 10th place and helped propel his team to a 9th place finish out of 19 teams. The rest of the JV group included Vincent Gonzales, Michael Medina, Benny Rodriguez and Nathan Palacios.
The JV girls finished 7th out of 15th. Making up the team were Vanessa Villarreal, Amanda Rendon, Christina Maldonado, Sabrina Garrison, Brittany Flores, Catalina Roberts, and Stephanie Tovar. The team next travels to Ingram on September 22nd.
The JH Cross Country team got off to a great start as well as they joined the High School at the FEAST Invitational on Saturday.
The 8th Grade Boys finished with a 2nd place team finish. They had 2 runners medal as Cory Santos placed 4th and Joe Garza placed 10th. Following not far behind were Justin Valdez, Zach Simmons, Sammy Sanchez, Cason Hoffman, Jack Touchet and Julian Lewis.
The 8th grade girls also had 2 medalist as Robin Pittman placed 3rd and Jasmine Medrano placed 4th; helping the girls to a 3rd place finish. Joining them were Julia Estrada, Ani Hack, Alexis Geigenmiller, and Alejandra Vela.
The 7th grade boys and girls had a good first start. Running for the 7th grade were Adrian Valdez, Devin Espinosa, and Kendall Aguinaga.
The girl runners included Kelci Potter, Nadia Robinson, Daisy Bippert, and Brittany Bruce. They also will attend the Ingram meet.
