Lytle Schools Reaching Out To Parents
In March 2007, Lytle ISD launched a new Instant Parent Communication service to all families of the district. This is a solution to the age old school communication problem- those many occasions when a school administrator needs to contact parents on short notice. Of course, some notices are more urgent than others, but when any notification event occurs, being prepared to respond quickly puts our school employees and parents in control. The district is trying to solve these parent notification problems with SchoolReach.
SchoolReach is a handy one-call solution that will simultaneously contact tens and hundreds of parents wherever they can be reached: at home or on their cell phones. The district plans to use this service to notify parents about school cancellations, utility failures, evacuations, parent meetings, and other important information. Principals will be able record a voice message. Messages will be able to be heard live, through voice mail or answering machine. Campus staff continues working very hard to make sure telephone numbers are updated and put in the system.
Partnership between school and parents is key to student success.
